The Weird, Weird West

Since moving to Northern Nevada from Calfornia in 2016, I've learned that the unofficial state motto, "Don't Fence Me In," manifests itself in all sorts of surprising ways. From being the divorce capital of the world in the mid-20th century to still allowing legalized prostitution, to the debate about whether wild horses are invasive pests or a national symbol of freedom, Nevada is and always will be an outlier. And its unpredictable denizens prove that you can never judge a book by its cover.

My blog is equal parts humor, natural history and weirdass Western lore. (Wouldn't you like to know the real origin of tumbleweeds? I thought so.)
